DDP shipping from China to the USA

Last updated October 27, 2026.

Shibida can quote DDP or DAP shipping from China to the United States. The written quote states whether duties and delivery are included.

Which quote to ask for

Ask for a DDP-oriented quote when you want delivery to a named place in the United States and the import duties and taxes inside that number. Ask for DAP when you want delivery arranged and duty left with the buyer. A business dock and an Amazon fulfillment center are different destinations: name which one. Shibida can price either version. This page is orientation, not legal advice, and not a duty calculator. Seehow we prepare a quote, thenRequest a Shipping Quote once the destination and the duty preference are known.

Door-to-door is not the same decision as DDP

Door-to-door answers "where does the service start and stop?" Pickup in China through delivery in the United States is door-to-door. Port to port is not.DDP answers "who bears delivery and import duty?" You can buy door-to-door service under DAP and still be the party who pays duty. You can ask for door-to-door under DDP when you want duty inside the quoted price. A short version of the door scope also sits on China to USA shipping.

Door-to-door does not mean Shibida owns the trucks, the vessel, or a U.S. warehouse. Those are booked for the shipment.

DAP and DDP are names from the Incoterms rules published by theInternational Chamber of Commerce. The table is orientation. It is not those rules, and it is not a duty calculation.

What a DDP-oriented quote has to clarify

Before you treat a number as "all in," the quote should say whether each of these categories is included. Amounts stay off this page.

  • International freight, ocean or air
  • Origin pickup and export handling in China
  • U.S. destination handling and delivery to the named place
  • Duties and taxes, included only when the line says so
  • Fuel, peak-season, or other carrier add-ons that apply to that booking

How those categories fit together is onwhat drives shipping cost. The request itself follows how we prepare a quote.

How a DDP request moves

  1. 1

    You name the term

Say DDP if you want duty considered inside the price. Say DAP if duty stays with the buyer.

  2. 2

    You send the cargo facts

Origin, U.S. address, product, value, and the HS code if you have it. Unknown is allowed.

  3. 3

    We price that scope

The quote lists included charges. We ask before we guess at a fact that changes duty.

  4. 4

    You accept in writing

Acceptance is the booking. Importer of record, if one is required, is named there.

Importer of record

This website does not appoint Shibida as the U.S. importer of record. Some DDP arrangements need a named importer. That party, and who pays duty if the classification changes, belongs in the written quote or the contract. Do not read this page as that appointment. We also do not claim an FMC license or a U.S. customs-broker license.

When the door is an Amazon fulfillment center

If the named place is an FBA warehouse, send the fulfillment-center code and say whether you also want the duty-included version. Labeling and the Amazon appointment are not automatic. See Amazon FBA shipping from China.

FAQ

What is DDP shipping from China to the USA?

DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is an Incoterm published by the International Chamber of Commerce. In plain language, the price is meant to include delivery to the named place and the import duties and taxes. These sentences are orientation. They are not a substitute for the Incoterms rules or for the written quote.

Is door-to-door the same as DDP?

No. Door-to-door is the service scope: pickup in China through delivery in the United States. DDP is the commercial term about who bears delivery and duty. You can ask for door-to-door under DAP, with duty left to the buyer, or door-to-door under DDP, with duty meant to be inside the price. The quote has to say which one.

How is DDP different from DAP?

DAP (Delivered at Place) arranges delivery to a named place, and the buyer usually handles import duty. DDP is meant to include those duties in the price as well as the delivery. Shibida can price either term. The quote lists the charges that are actually included.

Does a DDP quote include duty?

Only when the quote says it does. Duty depends on classification, customs value, and origin. We do not estimate duty on this website. If you want duties and taxes inside the number, say DDP on the request and send the commercial value and the HS code if you know it.

Is Shibida the U.S. importer of record?

Not by default. This site does not say that Shibida is the U.S. importer of record. If a shipment needs an importer of record, that party is named in the written quote or the contract, not assumed from this page.

What should I send for a DDP quote?

Send the China origin, the U.S. delivery address or ZIP, what the goods are, carton count, dimensions and weight if known, commercial value, HS code if you have one, and the ready date. Say whether delivery is a dock, a warehouse, or an Amazon fulfillment center. Missing facts are fine if you mark them unknown.

Can DDP deliver to Amazon FBA?

A DDP-scoped quote can name an Amazon fulfillment center as the delivery place when you want duty included and the destination is an FBA warehouse. Appointment and labeling rules are a separate question, covered on the Amazon FBA page, and they are in the quote only when the quote says so.

Send the cargo details. Get a quote by email.

Origin, U.S. destination, and a description of the goods are enough to start. Dimensions can be approximate. A quote is not a booking until you accept it in writing.
